A perfect example of this is Lombok's comfortable and sturdy slatted day bed. Ubiquitous throughout South East Asia, day beds are perfect for lounging on a lazy Sunday. The slatted back and sides are finished with ball finials and they come complete with a cream canvas-covered mattress.
