Two Egyptians candidates are vying for the posts of the African Union (AU) commissioner for infrastructure and energy and AU commissioner for trade and industry.
Amany Abu Zeid, AU senior Adviser on Natural Resources Management, is competing for the union's commissioner for infrastructure and energy, while Mona el Garf, head of Egypt's Consumer Protection Agency, is vying for the AU commissioner for trade and industry.
They pair are among eight other candidates competing for the two posts.
Elections will take place on Tuesday during the African summit meetings that will kick off on Monday at the level of heads of state and government.
The winner should secure two thirds of the votes of the AU members, which means 36 out of 54 member states.
Tomorrow, the president and the deputy president of the AU commission will be picked.
