
Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani left here on Tuesday for Tajikistan for a two-day visit to the neighboring country, said a statement issued by the country's Presidential Palace.
"President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, leading a high-level delegation, at the official invitation of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, left this morning for Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan," the statement said.
During the two-day visit, Ghani will hold separate meetings with Tajikistan president, prime minister, parliament speaker and other officials, in order to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, the statement added.
The Afghan leader will also address the Tajikistan National University, according to the statement.
Afghan Foreign Minister Salauddin Rabbani, Water and Power Minister Ali Ahmad Usmani and Afghan Attorney General Farid Hamidi were among other officials accompanying the president, the statement added.
