Secretary General of the Arab League (AL) Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Monday welcomed the formation of the Lebanese Government under Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
In a statement, the AL said Aboul Gheit phoned Hariri felicitating him on forming the new national accord cabinet.
The AL chief wished success to the new government to undertake its tasks in revitalizing the constitutional institutions of the Lebanese state and to support the country's march towards establishing the foundations of stability and national unity, especially at the current phase in which the region is experiencing many challenges that can have impact on the Lebanese arena.
Aboul Gheit expressed hope to visit Lebanon in the coming period within his periodic visits to the various Arab countries since he took office in July, the statement concluded.
