Antiquities minister arrives in Luxor

Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh el Damati arrived in Luxor late Thursday to inspect the archaeological sites that will be visited by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In statements, Luxor International Airport manager Hesham el Husseiny said Civil Aviation Minister Hossam Kamal, Culture Minister Helmi el Namnam and Transport Minister Saad el Gyoushi will be present soon in Luxor.
The ministers' visit comes to check preparations for the celebrations, to be held at Luxor Temple.
Those celebrations, also to be attended by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Chinese counterpart, mark the launch of the 2016 Sino-Egyptian Culture Year.
