
Head of the Egyptian airlines league Captain Sherif el Mannawi said the conference of the Association of Star Alliance Pilots (ASAP) will be held in Cairo for the first time on November 15-17
In a statement released on Tuesday, the league's chairman said elevating the international standards of the air aviation industry would figure high on the agenda of ASAP conference that will be held in Cairo for the first time in cooperation with the General Union of Egyptian Pilots and the Egyptian airlines league.
The conference will also address training courses and their role in promoting the professional skills of pilots as well as improving the air safety on board planes.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the General Union of Egyptian Pilots Captain Ali Roshdi said the conference's timing would send a message to the world on the distinguished position of Egypt and Egyptian pilots.
ASAP is a formalization of the close ties of the pilot groups of the carriers that are members of the Star Alliance. The purpose of ASAP is to provide a face-to-face forum for Star Alliance pilots to address issues which affect all alliance pilots as well as individual carrier situations.
