
US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter arrived in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, on Sunday coming from Baghdad where he discussed with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al Abadi the war on Daesh terrorist group.
Carter's talks in Baghdad also took up the military operation to free Mosul city from Daesh's grip.
Upon arrival at Erbil International Airport, Carter was received by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani.
Carter met with the President of the Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani and Kurdish officials to probe the latest developments of the military operations against Daesh.
