Czech FM concludes 3-day visit to Cairo

Czech Republic's Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomir Zaoralek left Cairo on Monday, concluding a three-day visit to Egypt.

Zaoralek was a accompanied by a thirty-member delegation of businessmen and officials.

During the visit, the minister met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

Interviewed by MENA, the Czech diplomat said his country has been among the few European Union members that did not reduce the military exports to the Egyptian army, as Egypt's security and stability are very important for the whole Middle East region.

It was not an easy mission to defend our stance at the EU, the diplomat said, adding that his country was fully convinced that Egypt's war on terrorism and extremism should be supported.

Czech is attaching importance to the projects of Suez Canal Development Corridor, Easter Port Said zone as well as the plans outlined to propel investment in the free zones, he added.
