
The Dubai International Holy Quran Award, DIHQA, has announced that the door is still open for applications for the 18th edition of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Holy Quran Contest for 2017.
Applications for the ten-branch competition, previously known as the ‘Local Quran Contest’, are being received until January 19th next year as per the terms and conditions announced by the organising committee.
According to Ibrahim Bu Melha, Adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and Head of the Award Organising Committee, the contest is open to male and female nationals and residents.
"The widely popular competition consists of ten categories, spanning Full Quran, 20 Parts or Volumes of the Quran, 10 Parts, Five Parts for Emirati memorisers, Five Parts for foreign participants aged not more than 10 years, and Three Parts for Emiratis below the age of 10."
