Egyptian minister arrives in Amman

Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali arrived here on Sunday on a two-day visit to Jordan.

During the visit, Wali will attend the 68th ordinary round of the executive office of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers.

She will also take part in a workshop about multi-faceted poverty in Arab countries. 

The Egyptian official will discuss means to develop social cooperation in a number of Arab countries and the role of civil society institutions. 

The meeting will probe ways of activating Arab development and social work mechanisms as part of joint Arab action and under the umbrella of the Arab League. 

The gathering also offers an opportunity for highlighting the need to exert more efforts to fight poverty and unemployment in societies.
