The eighth round of the two-day conference will start proceedings on Monday in cooperation with ISESCO.
In pre-departure statements, Khamis said the agenda calls for probing mechanisms for following up the implementation of plans and projects to develop the education system in OIC member countries.
He added the conference will discuss a proposed project to establish an Islamic world observatory for science, technology and innovation.
Participants will mull the launch of an online Islamic portal for research and education, according to the Egyptian official.
