
The Secretary General of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Sarah Lewis, arrived on Monday evening in Beirut, to meet the invitation of the Lebanese Ski Federation, ahead of the FIS's junior championship to be held on Arz slopes mid-January.
"Lebanon is very active inside the FIS," Lewis told reporters at Beirut airport, revealing underway efforts to develop the winter sport.
"I came [to Lebanon] to meet with the concerned [sides] and to visit the ski slopes," she said.
Lewis is scheduled to inspect Arz slopes which will host the international competition from January 12 till January 17, with the participation of 12 countries.
