Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry returned back on Sunday from New York after taking part in a meeting of the International Syria Support Group.
The meeting discussed a peace plan that aims to end the conflict in Syria within the Vienna talks that were held earlier in October.
At the meeting, Shoukry reviewed the Egyptian stances towards the Syrian crisis.
The top Egyptian diplomat stressed the necessity of preserving the Syrian state institutions and launching the political process as soon as possible in parallel with boosting international efforts to combat terrorism in Syria and putting an end to foreign intervention.
The talks asserted the role shouldered by a number of countries, including Egypt, to unify the stances of the Syrian opposition.
