Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil on Saturday inspected a project to generate renewable energy at the industrial zone in Qena.
Established over an area of 25,000 square meters, the project cost some 370 million pounds and is meant to produce 1,000 megawatts of energy.
It will also secure more than 2,500 jobs for youth.
Accompanying Qabil was Qena governor Abdel Hamid el Haggan. Haggan said that 30 investment projects have so far been implemented at the industrial zone in the Upper Egyptian city at a total cost of 116 million pounds.
Those projects helped secure 1,321 new jobs for youth, the governor said. Work is underway to complete 22 new projects at a total cost of 140.2 million pounds, he added.
