Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil is scheduled Thursday to pay a visit to Kafr el Dawar's industrial zone to open new factories and lay the foundation stone for some others at the second phase of the textile industrial zone, Beheira Governor Mohamed Sultan said Tuesday.
The governor, who paid an inspection tour to textile factories at the industrial zone, hailed Kafr el Dawar as one of the most textile centers in Egypt.
Most of the zone's products are being exported to Arab and foreign countries, he added.
The first phase of Kafr el Dawar's industrial zone gathers 55 factories at a cost of EGP 2.5 billion and provides 12,000 direct jobs, expected to hit 15,000 after completing current expansions, while the second phase gathers 30 factories at a cost of EGP 2 billion and provides 10,000 jobs.
