Iraqi foreign ministry undersecretary departs Cairo

Iraqi Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Omar al Barzanji left here Saturday heading to his country after a five-day visit to Egypt where he participated in the meetings of the 145th session of the Arab League's ministerial council.
Meanwhile, the council of the Arab League (AL) in its extraordinary session held on Thursday under Bahrain's Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed al Khalifa approved of appointing Ahmed Ali Abul Gheit as a secretary general of the AL for five years starting from July 2016.
In an official decision, the council demanded the current AL Secretary General Nabil el Araby to continue to assume the duties of his post until June 30, 2016.
