Italian defense minister arrives in Irbil on unannounced visit

Italian Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti arrived in Irbil on an unannounced visit on Monday for discussions with Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) authorities, the Kurdish media network Rudaw reported.
The fight against the Daesh, reconstruction process of Mosul Dam, which is being carried out by an Italian company, and the increase of Italy’s military advisers and personnel in the region are going to be the central focus of Pinotti's talks in Irbil.
The visiting minister was received at the Irbil International Airport by Karim Shingali, the KRG's Minister of Interior.
