
Minister of Foreign Affairs Anifah Aman will lead Malaysia's delegation to the Geneva Conference on Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE), which will be held in Geneva, Switzerland from 7 to 8 April 2016, the Malaysian news agency Bernama reported.
YB Dato' Sri Anifah Aman will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia.
The Geneva Conference on PVE, to be co-hosted by Didier Burkhalter, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Confederation and Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General, will provide an opportunity for the international community to share experiences and good practices in addressing drivers of violent extremism and to give further consideration to the Secretary-General's Plan of Action on PVE, which was presented to UN Member States in New York on 17 February 2016.
Anifah Aman is expected to participate in the High-level segment, where he will be sharing Malaysia's perspective and experiences on preventing violent terrorism at the national level.
