
Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz on Friday in Nouakchott inaugurated a defence college named after His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The inauguration coincided with Mauritania's celebration of Independence Day.
Those who attended the ceremony included Ambassador of the UAE to Mauritania Abdullah Masoud Al Kalbani, Mauritania's Chief of the General Staff of the Armies Major General Mohamed Ould Cheikh Mohamed Ahmed, Mauritanian Minister of Interior and Decentralisation Ahmedou Ould Abdalllah, ministers, officials, Army and security commanders and a number of senior officers.
Minister Ould Abdalllah thanked the UAE and noted that the new important academic institution will always bear witness to the strong fraternal ties between the two countries.
