
Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said he presented a proposal to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to reconsider measures of sending Egyptian religious scholars abroad.
Addressing the African affairs committee at parliament headed Hatem Bashat, he said the proposal focuses on forming a committee under the assistant foreign minister for African affairs and representatives of Awqaf ministry, higher educational ministry, Al azhar, culture ministry and national security to determine the countries of priority with a focus on the Nile basin countries .
He pointed out that the Awqaf ministry had distributed free of charge translation of Quranic copies in English, French, Swahili and German .
