
The Ministry of Culture won the Bahrain e-Content Award2013 it being one of the leading organizations capable of harnessing virtual space for communication and détente with the "other". The Minister of Culture received the award, awarded to the Ministry in recognition of its Spring of Culture website, during the award distribution ceremony organized by the Bahrain Internet Society (BIS), the Electronic Government Authority (EGA), the Bahrain Association of IT Companies and the World Summit Award, under the kind auspices of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communications Technologies (SCIST). Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa expressed her delight at receiving this award which attests to the efforts exerted by Ministry of Culture crew in the cultural scene and promoting Bahraini cultural movement locally, in the Arab world and worldwide. The Minister said that choosing the website of Spring of Culture as one of the winning webpages encourages upholding the Ministry vision in creating better rapprochement between Bahrain's community and the outside world. The Minister praised the Spring of Culture Festival for its rich, high-quality bilingual (Arabic/English) e-content, images and drawings which add a highly professional aesthetic touch which boosts a high sense of Bahrain's elegant culture.
