
The UAE pays proper attention to the world of books, word and knowledge as these constitute a core pillar of the UAE development policy, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said during a tour of the 25th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) being organised at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Sheikh Mohamed, who was flanked by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, stressed the importance of science as a backbone of development and progress of nations.
Highlighting the intellectual cultural gathering, Sheikh Mohamed said the book fair features programmes and events that enrich the Arab scientific and literary scene with latest publications and titles in thought, science and knowledge.
H.H. also recognised the vital significance of promoting the habit of reading and encouraging youngsters and students to diversify their reading in different sciences and knowledge so as to build an outstanding, self-developed character.
Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Juma Al Qubaisi, Director of ADIBF, Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Secretary-General of the Zayed Book Award, and a crowd of officials also accompanied Sheikh Mohammed during the tour of the fair, which is organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority. The fair celebrates its Silver Jubilee this year with many special events in the form of cultural, professional and educational programmes. One such event celebrates Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as the Focus Personality at ADIBF 2015.
