
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday visited the Great Wall, one of the greatest feats in the history of mankind.
Sheikh Mohamed and the members of the official delegation accompanying him toured different parts of the wall, which was built 2,700 years ago and stretches for thousands of kilometres.
He stopped at the turrets and watchtowers dotting the wall and was briefed about its history and its route through different terrains.
Sheikh Mohamed wrote in the visitors' record: "I am pleased today to visit one of the world's most remarkable landmarks that reflects the values of hard work, perseverance and determination. I would like to express my admiration and appreciation for the people of China and their rich culture. I wish further progress to our relations, built on strong friendship and deep-rooted links."
He was accompanied by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Sheikhs and senior officials.
