
Former foreign minister of Egypt Mohamed el-Orabi has been nominated as Egypt’s Eminent Person to the D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation. “Ambassador Orabi served as the D-8 Commissioner of Egypt from 2008 till 2011. His vast knowledge and experience on economic relations will help enrich the D-8,” said Harun Kucukaladagli, Adviser to the Secretary-General of the D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation, in statements to MENA on Friday. The Eminent Persons from eight countries of D-8 will hold two-day meetings from 15 till 16 May in Istanbul, Turkey, and brainstorm among themselves on the prospect, challenges and opportunities of the D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation. The report and recommendations produced in the session will be presented to the D-8 Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs meeting in September as well as to the D-8 Summit scheduled in December 2014 in Turkey.
