
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Iyad Madani left Cairo Tuesday after his visit to Egypt where he met President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on issues of common interest.
His meeting with Sisi came as part of Egypt's rotating presidency to the Islamic summit.
They discussed latest developments in Middle East, the OIC's initiative on both regional and international arenas, and Egypt's vital role in pushing forward the joint Muslim works in various fields.
During their meeting, Sisi asserted his country's appreciation to Madani's supporting stance.
He also underscored the importance of improving the religious discourse to counter terrorism and extremism.
