
Egyptian Speaker Ali Abdel Al chaired the Arab consultative group meeting that was held on Saturday in the Bangali capital Dhaka as part of the Inter-Parliamentary Union general assembly meetings.
In a statement released on Saturday by the Parliament, the consultative group discussed coordinating Arab stances as regards the issues tabled on the agenda of IPU general assembly.
Arab parliaments have also agreed on nominating the Egyptian speaker to the membership of the executive committee of the IPU as a representative of the Arab group.
The Arab group also agreed on supporting a request presented by the Palestinian National Council (PNC) concerning the listing of an emergency item on ending Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Arab territories.
