Patriarch of Ethiopia to start 6-day visit to Egypt Saturday

Patriarch of Ethiopian Orthodox Church Abune Mathias I is scheduled Saturday to start a six-day visit to Egypt, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Ethiopian Church.
This visit that comes at an invitation of Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese will be Abune Mathias's first to Egypt since he took office in 2013.
Abune Mathias will be officially received upon his arrival on Saturday at the Cathedral of St. Mark in Abbassiya, a church official said.
