Egypt’s Planning Minister Ashraf el Araby is scheduled to visit Washington on Tuesday for social safety nets’ meetings at the World Bank headquarters in the US.
During his three-day visit, the minister would lead a ministerial delegation to review Egypt-2030 strategy and plans set by the government to maintain social safety in the development program.
The minister’s visit comes at an invitation from the World Bank to discuss challenges and polices adopted to address social safety, read a statement by the ministry.
Araby is planned to speak about Egypt’s program and strategy for the sustainable development (Egypt 2030) with special emphasis on the social safety, the statement said.
The World Bank supports sustainable and affordable safety net programs that protect families from shocks, help ensure that children grow up healthy, well-fed, and stay in school and learn, empower women and girls; and create jobs.
