
Pope Francis I of the Vatican will pay on the twenty-fourth of next May an official visit to Amman at the invitation of Jordan's King Abdullah II . Jordanian news agency (Petra) said during the visit King Abdullah II will discuss with the Pontiff bilateral relations with the Vatican, along with a number of issues related to the promotion of brotherhood, dialogue, Muslim-Christian coexistence and the latest developments in the Middle East . Jordan had three previous Papal visits, the first of which was paid by Pope Paul VI in 1964 , which was his first visit abroad, the second by Pope John Paul II in 2000 and the last by Pope Benedict XVI in 2009.
