
Congo President Denis Sassou-Nguesso arrived in Tunis late Wednesday on a two-day visit to the Arab country.
The visit comes as part of preparations for the African Union Summit, slated for January 30, 31 in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, said Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Tunisia Faisal Qoaah.
He said that Nguesso's visit also aims at enhancing Tunisian-Congolese bilateral relations and prompting economic cooperation.
The Congolese president was received by Tunisian Defense Minister Ghazi Jeribi and a number of Tunisian officials.
