H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, today performed prayers for rain, known as Salaat Al Istisqaa, at Grand Eid Musalla in Ras al-Khaimah.
The prayers were held in response to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's call for Muslims in the UAE to gather at mosques and musallahs across the country to perform the prayers in keeping with the tradition of the Prophet Mohammad, PBUH, to pray for the land to be blessed with rain.
Sheikh Saud performed the prayers along with a crowd of Sheikhs and senior officials in addition to a number of citizens and residents.
