The work on adopting Syria’s new constitution should be stepped up to hold early elections and adopt mutually beneficial solutions for the conflicting sides, Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said commenting on the Berlin meeting.
The senator said the leaders of Germany and France, Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande, were informed of what may be and needs to be done in the near future for successful fight against terrorism and restoration of peace in Syria, the upper house’s press service said in a statement according to TASS News Agency on Thursday.
"It is important here to decisively intensify the work on adopting the new constitution and holding early elections on its basis and finding mutually beneficial decisions for all the conflicting sides," the document said.
