Libya's Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj has invited newly-elected European Parliament President Antonio Tajani to pay a visit to the north African country to exchange views on the latest developments.
Tajani, during a meeting with Sarraj in Brussels, praised efforts of the Libyan presidential council to achieve national reconciliation, the website of the media office of the Libyan premier said on Saturday.
Head of the Presidential Council Sarraj highlighted the latest political and security developments in Libya, stressing that the council prioritizes national reconciliation and security, as well as efforts to revive the economy.
Asserting support for reconciliation efforts in Libya, Tajani noted that Libya's stability is vital and of special importance to Europe.
Meanwhile, Sarraj had talks with a galaxy of EU officials on a number of political, security and economic files.
The talks also tackled rallying efforts to uproot terrorism and illegal immigration.
