
The Ministry of Trade and Industry targets increasing the non-petroleum products to $ 30 billion by 2020 compared to $ 18.6 billion last year with an increase of 10 percent.
In statements on Thursday, the Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil said that his ministry seeks narrowing the gap in the trade balance via increasing the exports and rationalizing the imports so as to import the products supporting the economic development only.
Qabil underlined that the ministry will implement some measures to promote the exports by issuing legislation that support business atmosphere in general.
The minister underscored that there are some measures taken to increase the exports to include the products of the small and medium enterprises.
Qabil said also that new markets will be opened for the Egyptian products especially the African and Russian ones.
