UN Special Envoy for Syria arrives in Damascus ahead of Geneva peace talks

The UN diplomat is expected to hold talks with the Syrian foreign minister and his deputy, Sky News reported.
De Mistura said earlier that he planned to visit Damascus and Tehran ahead of the start of a new round of Syrian peace talks.
The Syrian reconciliation talks are expected to kick off on April 11, with the government’s delegation anticipated to come to Geneva on April 14.

Earlier on Sunday, a member of the Russian delegation stated that Syrian government representatives will arrive in Geneva following the Syrian parliamentary elections due to be held on April 13
