As Many as one hundred Sri Lankan domestic workers or maids who had taken refuge at their embassy in Jordan have been hospitalized on Saturday with food poisoning, the Jordanian Civil Defence Directorate announced today. Col. Farid Al-Sharaa said in a statement issued here today about one hundred and thirteen Sri Lankan house workers were hospitalized after eating food meals throught to be invalid . The jordanian ambulances teams of the aforesaid directorate of wester Amman first offered them the first aid measures and then shift them to three nearby hospitals, namely Prince Hamza, Al Bashir And Jordan University Hospitals and described their health condition as intermediate. It is noted that thousands of Sri Lankan , Indonesian and Philippine females are working as house workers in jordan.
