
A criminal group, made up of twelve (12) Sudanese and eight (08) Chadians, was arrested Monday morning by the People’s National Army (ANP) in Tiririne close to Algeria-Niger borders, said Monday the National Defence Ministry in a communiqué.
“As part of the fight against smuggling and organized crime, the elements of the People’s National Army (ANP) falling under the operational sector of In Guezzam, 6th military region, succeeded, in an ambush in the zone of Tiririne close to Algeria-Nigeria borders, today 6 October 2014 at 11.00 a.m., in arresting a criminal group made up of twenty (20) individuals, 12 Sudanese and 8 Chadians,” said the communiqué.
This operation resulted in the seizure of two (02) all terrain vehicles and six (06) motorbikes, added the source.
