
A four-year-old boy died on Saturday of measles in Beni Sueif governorate, south of Cairo, a local medical source said.
Head of al-Wasti Hospital, northern Beni Sueif, Karam Saad said three other suspected cases have been admitted to the hospital’s fever department.
The new measles outbreak have prompted the health ministry to establish a vaccination outreach team to carry out a vaccine program, educate the public and vaccinate children at clinics and homes.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by a virus. It spreads through the air as a result of coughing and sneezing.
