
Supported by the Syrian government, the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) distributed a total of 800 food and health baskets in Yarmouk Camp in Damascus.
GAPAR Director Ali Mustafa said that the aid, which included 400 food baskets and 400 health packages, was distributed at Rama Street in the Camp on Saturday.
He added that the food baskets that have been distributed since 30th of last January have reached 55974, while the number of health baskets rose to 11584.
UNRWA’s medical point delivered 4000 polio vaccines to the Palestinian Red Crescent Organization, with 7 people with medical conditions evacuated from the camp to receive treatment.
The inhabitants of Yarmouk Camp are still trapped by armed terrorist groups who have repeatedly hampered the initiatives and efforts which were agreed on to put an end to the crisis inside the neighborhood and provide access to humanitarian assistance.
