A pornographic film actor tested positive for HIV, prompting an industry association to call for a moratorium on filming. Free Speech Coalition, a nationwide adult entertainment industry association, confirmed the positive test results for the human immunodeficiency virus, which causes AIDS, but declined to say where it occurred and did not provide details about the affected performer, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday. The association has previously called for temporary moratoriums after adult film performers were found to have sexually transmitted infections. In a statement, the group said it was working with a doctor affiliated with Adult Production Health and Safety Services to "contact and treat performers for any possible exposure involving the primary patient" and additional tests were being done on the performer who tested positive. "Because of the rigorous APHSS protocols, the situation was accessed quickly and -- most importantly -- action was taken to ensure the protocols were followed," the coalition's chief executive officer, Diane Duke, said. Nothing indicated the infection was contracted on the movie set, the coalition said.
