
An acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) case has been detected in Port Said, a senior health official at the canal city said on Monday.
A blood sample taken from a female patient at the dialysis unit in Port Said General Hospital tested positive for the disease, health undersecretary Islam Ramadan said.
The official added that 317 blood samples were taken from all the staff at the unit and they all tested negative for the disease.
The health authorities ordered to isolate the dialysis machine which was used by the patient from other machines.
