A Memorandum of Understanding between Algeria and the United Kingdom on hospital management techniques has been signed Tuesday at the headquarters of the health ministry. The document was signed by Algeria’s Health Ministry director of studies and planning Cherifa Zerrouki, and UK’s Director at International Hospitals Group Limited Stuart Smalley, in the presence of Health Minister Abdelaziz Ziari and UK PM Economic Partnership Envoy for Algeria Lord Richard Risby. Stuart Smalley from the British company IHG said to the press that the Memorandum signing is a strong sign of the "excellent relations" linking both countries, indicating that the United Kingdom "has much to give to Algeria" in the field of health. He wished that this agreement will be extended to other projects. Smalley expressed his "surprise" by Health ministry commitment to refurbish healthcare, calling it "excellent" and hope that UK will "contribute." Hassani Isaad hospital in Beni Messous (Algiers) has been selected to be the pilot project as part of Algeria- UK agreement including training and management.
