Argentinean President Cristina Fernandez remained hospitalized at a Buenos Aires clinic Monday due to a fever, her office said.
The president entered the hospital after feeling ill on Sunday afternoon. Cabinet chief Jorge Capitanich declined to provide details of her condition Monday, saying only that he spoke to the president before she entered the clinic.
The illness forced Fernandez to suspend a visit to Argentina by President Michelle Bachelet of neighboring Chile that had been planned for Tuesday, presidential spokesman Alfredo Scoccimarro.
The two leaders planned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of a peace treaty between both countries.
