An international congress on infectious diseases will be held late February under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. Bahrain Medial Society (BMS) is organising the conference at the Gulf Hotel, in cooperation with the Saudi Society for Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
Leading Arab and European consultants will attend the three-day congress, along with participants representing hospitals and medical colleges in Bahrain. "The upcoming congress is the first medical conference of its kind in Bahrain, which will spotlight infectious diseases and preventive measures", BMS Secretary-General Dr. Manaf Mohammed Al-Qahtani said, pointing out that high-level Arab and international delegations will take part.
In a statement today, he underscored the importance of the agenda of the conference, with infectious diseases ravaging several countries, particularly Malaria, Ebola, Coronavirus and Aids. He pointed out that a medical exhibition would be held on the sidelines of the three-day conference, leaving the door open for local, regional and international manufacturing firms to take part and showcase their latest medical products.
