The Dubai Health Authority(DHA) recently organized a workshop to review and update its strategy for the years 2011 -2015. The workshop was attended by Khalid Al Sheikh Mubarak, Deputy Director-General of Dubai Health Authority and senior DHA management from across the DHA sectors and hospitals. Khalid Al Sheikh during a meeting at the Radisson Royal Hotel in Dubai said that DHA pays special emphasis to review and continually update its strategy to ensure the authority keeps abreast with the changes and developments witnessed in the health sector and the Emirate of Dubai and accordingly adapts its policies and plans to cater to these changes. The meeting discussed all aspects of the strategy including performance indicators and goals of the strategy. Al Sheikh Mubarak reviewed the efforts made by the authority during the past years to develop an effective health system which has contributed significantly to upgrading the level and quality of health services for the population of the Emirate. Laila Al Jassmi, CEO of Health Policy and Strategy Sector said that the strategy is based on four goals which includes better health, access to healthcare, quality of healthcare and efficiency. She said each goal has several objectives and initiatives under it to ensure that the people of Dubai and visitors get easy access to quality healthcare.
