The International Medical travel Conference and Exhibition (v), organised by Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, will take place next week from 7th-8th October at the Dubai International Convention Centre.
The event is sponsored by the Dubai Health Authority, whose goal is to promote and facilitate medical tourism in Dubai and support the healthcare infrastructure to strengthen Dubai’s position as a medical travel hub with the aim of hosting more than half a million medical tourists by 2020.
IMTEC will host more than 100 exhibitors from all over the globe. Visitors will be able to speak to representatives and healthcare professionals from healthcare facilities from 20 destinations offering more than 50 treatments.
The medical travel event will also feature a consultation clinic to provide visitors with free one-on-one medical consultation with global healthcare providers.
Commenting on the DHA partnership with the organisers of IMTEC, Dr. Layla Mohamed AlMarzouqi, Director, Health Regulation Department, DHA, said, "Medical Tourism is a field that is seeing tremendous growth. Dubai offers an array of excellent medical services across various fields of healthcare. Factors such as Dubai’s strong position on the world tourism map, excellent infrastructure, translation services, hospitality and recreational services in Dubai are added factors that have helped strengthen the emirate’s position on the world tourism map.
The conference presents an opportunity to showcase the services that both the private and the public health sector offer for medical tourists. It’s also an opportunity to share experiences and knowledge base with medical tourism providers across the region and globally.
