
Under the patronage of Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health, the only specialised Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery event in the Middle East and North Africa Region, "Dubai Otology 2014", starts its second edition tomorrow at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Dubai.
Dubai Otology 2014 is one of the most distinguished events in the region in its field. It is the ideal platform for local and international speakers to get an opportunity to network with one another, discuss and understand the latest advances in the highly specialised field.
This year, the exhibition will host more than 30 companies promoting the most up-to-date equipment, machines and products and over 400 regional and international E.N.T. specialists and surgeons, otolaryngologists, otologists, neurologists, audiologists, doctors, physiotherapists, speech therapists, delegates, trainees, nurses, and students.
The conference will offer its participants and attendees the chance to earn more than 30 Continuing Medical Education credit hours, as accredited by the Ministry of Health. Continuing CME credits are necessary to renew medical practicing licenses in the U.A.E.
The conference sessions this year will cover recent developments in Cholesteatoma, Mastoidectomy, Tympanoplasty, Facial Nerve, Ossiculoplasty, Stapes Surgery, Vestibular Schwannoma, Cochlear Implant, Implantable Hearing Aids, Auditory Brainstem Implant, Vertigo, Skull Base Surgery and The Future of Otology and Neurotology.
According to the World Health Organisation, 360 million people worldwide have disabling hearing loss that can be inherited, caused by maternal rubella or complications at birth, certain infectious diseases such as meningitis, chronic ear infections, use of ototoxic drugs, exposure to excessive noise and ageing.
Dubai Otology 2014 will be held from 16th to 18th of October 2014. It is organised by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions, a member of INDEX Holding, and in cooperation with the U.A.E. Ministry of Health.
