The Egyptian Agency for Development Partnerships has delivered a shipment of medical aid to Goma General Hospital in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The agency, affiliated with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, has offered four specialized clinics worth 300,000 dollars, said Hany Salah, the Egyptian Ambassador in Kinshasa, Tuesday.
Led by consul Tamer el Qambashawi, a delegation of the Egyptian Embassy left for Goma to deliver the last shipment of medical aid provided by the agency for Goma General Hospital, Salah said.
The hospital received another two specialized clinics in 2014, the diplomat noted.
He underscored Egypt's keenness on upgrading and reconstructing the eastern area in the DRC with the aim to alleviate the suffering of its residents.
The director of Goma General Hospital praised medical cooperation between his country and Egypt.
He could sense an Egyptian keenness on upgrading the medical sector in the DRC, conflict-hit areas in particular.
The Egyptian ambassador here is set to visit Goma soon to inaugurate a number of Egyptian clinics there, in the presence of the DRC's health minister and the mayor of North Kivu province.
