Egypt: Invalid fish, chicken seized on first day of Eid

An operations room of the Supply Ministry has received a report that 409 kilograms of invalid smoked fish were seized on the market on the first day of Lesser Bairam.
As many as 4,664 packages of expired foodstuffs have also been seized, said Dr Sayyed Haggag, the chairman of the internal trade sector at the Ministry, on Saturday.
Also half a ton of invalid chicken was seized, Haggag added.
All seized items have been confiscated.
The prosecution will launch an investigation.
