
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed Tayyeb opened on Wednesday the first stage of Al Azhar University Hospital in Nasr City, the biggest educational hospital in the Middle East.
The hospital, built on a 25 feddan area, cost one billion pounds, financed by a grant of the UAE.
The first stage includes 200 beds and 25 operations rooms.
This medical edifice is added to the Egyptian health mechanism and will offer high-quality services to all Egyptians, said head of the hospital Abdel Hai Azeb.
He unveiled a plan to develop all medical facilities affiliated with Al Azhar University to cope with the latest in the medical domain, he said.
